Mark W. Sheehan, M.D.

Dr. Mark W. Sheehan is an interventional cardiologist who has been practicing in Denver, Colorado since 1981.

He was born August 23rd, 1949 in Staten Island, New York. He grew up in Syosset, Long Island and moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1963. He graduated from Wyoming High School in Cincinnati in 1967 and then attended The Ohio State University where he graduated in 1971. He married his high school sweet heart Linda Stevenson June 20, 1971, one week before starting medical school at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He graduated from medical school in 1974 and then completed his internship and internal medicine residency at the Baylor Affiliated program in 1977. He served two years in the United States Air Force stationed as a cardiologist at the Wright Patterson Air Force base until 1979, when he moved his family to Denver, Colorado to complete his cardiology training as a fellow at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.

Linda and Mark have been blessed with two children, Chris and Laurie. Linda and Mark independently became Christians in 1980 while attending the Faith Presbyterian Church. They have been active in their churches in Denver, serving together as deacons and Mark as an elder at the Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church. They presently are members of the Cherry Hills Community Church (Evangelic Presbyterian Church) and members of the John II Koinonia fellowship group.

Dr. Sheehan was led to Cambodia in June 2000, and along with Dr. Nam Cho and Dr. Dan Smith founded the Christian Medical Ministry to Cambodia/Jeremiah’s Hope in January 2004. In 2010 Dr. Sheehan with help from his son Chris, published their book “Healing Prayer on Holy Ground: A Cardiologist discovers God’s Presence in the Lives of his Patients”. Their book website is www.hpohg.com. On May 10th, 2014 Mark received an honorary Doctorate of Humanities Degree from Colorado Christian University for his ongoing work in Cambodia.
